TMI – the tag of the crazy world

There are lots of information around us and every day we receive even more and more. You just can’t imagine how many useless links and tweets are being just ignored by you daily. More than that – recently Twitter users started to leverage a new tag – TMI. It stands for Too Much Information and marks completely awful posts and tweets, which you would never want to read. So, 1,500 tweets with hashtag #tmi were generated within the past 24 hours.

  1. Prioritizing - organizing your information according to it’s importance
  2. Multireading - easy to read information feeds from different sources
  3. Satisficing - being happy with “I’ve read enough for today”
  4. Refusing - identifying infromation you don’t need to read
  5. Limiting - avoiding the mindset that more data is better
  6. Queuing - just mark information you like to read it later
  7. Delegating - identifying information somebody can read for you
  8. Shifting - just stay calm, you can’t know everything
  9. Escaping - don’t try to tune as more information sources as possible. Escape overloading
  10. Altering - use different siruations and cases to read information (use mobile)
  11. Filtering - paying attention to just a most important and helpful information and leaving aside any other sources.
