Here are a few tips from our CEO Jane:

1) Identify your next big goal.

Its may be amount of users, or value, or fundraising. Doesn’t matter. Check your goals against the S.M.A.R.T. criteria.

2) You should start a day with answer:

What can I do today to reach my goal?

Don’t forget this rule:

20% efforts --> 80% results

Use this matrix to make a decision about task for today:

3) Think on paper

Your brain tricking you when you think: “Don’t write it down. I’ll remember.” If you plan a feature list - write it down. If you come up a new feature - write it down. If you find a bug - write it down! Anywhere: in task-tracker, notepad, Evernote, napkin or flyer.

4) Your inbox should be empty when you finish a workday

Answer it, if it’s a question. Put it on the list if it’s a task. Delete it if it’s not important.

5) Avoid distractions

Start the “free of distractions” days: no meetings, skype or social media. Use headphones when you need focus (everytime).

6) Start a day with the hardest task

Prioritize tasks according to their impact:

  • A – I won’t reach my goal without this
  • B – Someone will be unhappy
  • C – I can decide not to do this
  • D – I can ask somebody else to do this
  • E – I won’t do this

7) You don’t need a perfect, just good enough

Imagine that 80% of your time is going towards “making it a little bit better.” Once again:
20% efforts --> 80% results
