LikeHackers: Who to Follow? – p.1

Hi there! It’s Dmitry. Here’s yet another topic to cover under the label of LikeHackers – a range of post bringing up the most interesting and influential people around the globe. Apart from speculating on the greatest achievers, we believe it’s important for our readers and us to highlight things and people we love and admire the most so that we understand each other better. So who you should really follow today?

Here we go, Clayton Christensen goes as the first one.

Mr. Christensen is the father of Jobs-to-be-done framework that’s applicable almost to anything from toothbrush analysis to understanding the value of success:

“It’s easier to hold to your principles 100% of the time than it is to hold to them 98% of the time. If you give in to “just this once,” based on a marginal cost analysis, as some of my former classmates have done, you’ll regret where you end up. You’ve got to define for yourself what you stand for and draw the line in a safe place.”

– Clayton M. Christensen

In his latest book “How Will You Measure Your Life?” Mr. Christensen and his brilliant co-authors provide a completely new way to look back at your life and try to figure out how to find more satisfaction and happiness from what you’ve got upfront. And you don’t have to be into IT, Web or any other tech in order to understand what he’s talking about. It’s just that clean and simple.

Now to a broadcaster, screencaster, writer, software developer, designer, and entrepreneur. Lots of folks apply under this description but there’s only one Dan Benjamin.

Dan’s Internet broadcasting network 5by5 is definitely “way of the future”. He’s built some truly amazing and unique mix of extremely talented and smart hosts, devoted and caring audience and huge partners. Dan’s got this genuine entrepreneurial spirit pushing everything he does forward. That’s why he deserves your attention.

I don’t care what

my LinkedIn friends are “up to.”

Dan Benjamin

I’ve got lost of heroes to tell you about that are someway affiliated with 5by5 and Dan but today we got to get to the 3rd one here. And it’s Jason Fried.

Getting a little bit personal, I should say that Jason is the one who sparked my imagination and startup-soul when I read “Getting Real” and “Rework”. He’s the founder of legendary 37signals (world class business), writer (as you’ve already got from me), thinker, speaker and more. Jason delivers on everything one could list here on the daily basis keeping himself and his team fit.

“When you don’t know what you believe, everything becomes an argument. Everything is debatable. But when you stand for something, decisions are obvious.”

Jason Fried

This series of post is just starting out so there’s more to expect from us. And we’re going to deliver. That’s how we roll, baby ;D
